Jermell Charlo and Brain Castano faced off in their final press conference before their bout this Saturday, July 17th on Showtime at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Charlo (34-1, 18 KOs) looks to put on a show in his home state of Texas against the undefeated WBO champ Brian Castano (17-0, 12 KOs). Both fighters looked poised and collected at the press conference and seemed eager to showcase their skills and preparation this Saturday night.

It should be an entertaining and competitive fight, with Castano known for applying pressure and Charlo often looking for moments in which he can punish opponents with his power.

On his preparation for the fight and thoughts about his opponent, Charlo stated, “This is a great opponent and a great fight, he wants to fight, he wants to bang, he could do whatever. I got different skill sets, shoutout to Juan Guzman. We implemented some different things, shoutout to Derek James, we continued on with some different things. I feel like a better fighter now.”

Jermell’s only blemish on his resume is a loss delivered by Tony Harrison. Since then, Charlo has consistently been fighting game opponents, living up to the expectations of the boxing world in wanting and fighting the best. With a skilled boxer like Castano and an undisputed opportunity on the line, Charlo proves again his hunger in the sport is not just all talk.
